Sean Clark created The Colorado Chili Cook Off as a way to give back to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in a fun and tasty way.
Sean's younger brother, Casey James Clark, was taken at a young age by Muscular Dystrophy. MDA provided many services for the Clark family through out Casey's life.
When Sean joined Rocky Mountain Beard and Moustache Club he met a wonderful and generous group of similarly furry folks.
Awesome Sean is the nickname the folks in RMBMC gave to him.
The idea occurred to him that here was a group of people who would help him give back to the organization that gave so much to him and his family.
Why chili?
Well why not? Chili is tasty.
The members of the Rocky Mountain Beard and Moustache club and Boulder Facial Hair Club agreed that pitting their culinary skill against each other for a good cause sounded fun. They were right.
Sean would like to invite you to join our merry band to eat some great chili, get to know some great people in the bearding world, City Star Brewery, and the folks at MDA.
Every good competition needs a mascot, right?
Meet Burnie.
He's an ambassador of chili. He doesn't play favorites to any particular style.
Burnie's motto is "I know a good chili when I taste it"
Hot, mild, green, red, beans, or no, he likes them all.
Oh and then there is Beer! Burnie believes the best drink to pair with chili is beer. Why there are probably as many types of beer as chilis. So how can you go wrong.
